Reconnecting the Inverter

Next Steps

Initial Steps

  • Ensure Correct Wi-Fi Connection: All inverter connections require a 2.4GHz home internet connection. If your current internet plan and router only allow 5.0GHz connection, contact your internet provider to resolve this issue.
  • Wi-Fi Strength: Ensure that the connection to your inverter is strong enough to operate. If your connection isn't strong, you may need to consider the use of a Wi-Fi extender. There are two methods of testing your connection:
    • Quick Method: Seeing how many bars of internet connection your smartphone or tablet receives when standing next to your inverter.
    • Accurate Method: Measuring your connection strength via website or app. We personally recommend using WiFiman by Ubiquiti.

Reconnecting the Inverter

Step 1: Open the Inverter’s SETUP Page

  • The Fronius main interface will have 4 indented buttons just below its screen. These buttons will correspond to the symbols represented above on the screen.
  • Hit the back button (third button from the left) to enter the main menu.
  • Press the left arrow button twice. This will bring you to the SETUP option. Press the enter button (far-right button) to open SETUP.

  • Scroll down to the Wi-Fi Access Point option. Press the enter button to open.
  • Press the enter button one more time to activate Wi-Fi Access.
  • Once this is finished loading, it will pop up with the Wi-Fi's name and password. Leave the screen as it is now as we will return to it later.
Step 3: Connecting your Device to the Inverter
  • On your smartphone or tablet, go into your settings and turn off your mobile data.
  • If not already on, turn on your smart device's Wi-Fi.
  • Connect with Inverter Wi-Fi network (FRONIUS_XXX.XXXXXX). This will match the Wi-Fi on your inverter screen.
  • Enter the password from the inverter screen. You should now be connected to your inverter.
Step 4: Accessing Fronius Settings on your Device
  • Open any internet browser on your device.
  • Type in the IP address 192.168.250.181 into the search engine. This will take you to the Fronius System home page.
  • Click the three lines at the top right corner and select network. This will take you to a password screen. For your password, this would’ve been provided during your systems installation. If we installed your system and you don’t know your password, please raise a support ticket with SolarHub and we will assist you.
  • Once you have logged in, it will take you back to the home page.

Step 5: Setting up Wi-Fi

  • Click the three lines at the top right corner again and select network.
  • You may receive a pop-up about the Fronius network net being connected to the internet. If you see this, tap “Keep Trying Wi-Fi".
  • Click on the Wi-Fi option. This will open a list of networks to chose from. Find your home network from the available networks list, select it, and enter your Wi-Fi password if prompted.

Step 6: Setting your Inverter Back to Default Screen

  • Press the enter button to “Deactivate Wi-Fi AP”.
  • Press the back button until you return back to the main menu screen.
  • Scroll to the right twice. This will bring you to the “NOW” option. Press enter one more time.

Next Steps

When reconnecting your inverter back to the internet, your home data may be delayed. In majority of cases, your inverter should communicate back to your home monitoring relatively fast. If this isn't the case, give the system 24 hours to reconfigure and the issue should be fixed.

If this process is unsuccessful, raise a support ticket with SolarHub’s Support and Service Team for further assistance.
